Some of my favorite train pics and links.

This is where I get to post pics that are fun, funny, silly, or just ones that I like for no apparent reason. Hope you enjoy them too.

UP Challenger #3985 when it traveled through my hometown headed to Houston, TX for the Superbowl in January, 2004.

I saw this "hay train" used to advertise hay for sale along US Hwy 65 near Cross Timbers, MO in January, 2004.

I call this one big boy with the Big Boy. This is my son standing next to UP Big Boy 4006 at the St. Louis Museum of Transportation in 2003--he was 4 at the time.

If you know any history behind NS and their high nose locomotives for crew safety, this is the newest generation--the SD70MH, offering the highest standard in crew cab safety in the event of front-end collisions. (I think this pic is hilarious. Is is shopped? Who kows? ;-)

Here the ALCO K-28 2-8-2 that pulled our train on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad is about to couple to the train. This picture was taken while vacationing with my family in June, 2008.

This is a picture of recreations of the Central Pacific Jupiter and Union Pacific 119 at a reenactment of the driving of the golden spike completeing the transcontinental railroad take on location at Promontory Summit, Utah in June, 2008.

This picture was taken from our coach window on the D&SNGRR in June, 2008.

This is one of two original tunnels on the right of way of the old Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad. The old roadbed is now a tourist road from the Victor/Cripple Creek, CO area toward Canon City. Called the Phantom Canyon Road, the trip is beautiful and historic but also rocky and very rough.
